Welcome Bear Pen Henry VIII

Thanks to my good friend Berry Tarleton, his grandson Tracey Jones and his great grandson Ben Jones, I'll be bringing an eighth-generation Bear Pen Plott home next weekend.
This pup, Bear Pen Henry VIII (Hank) represents eight generations of Bear Pen-bred dogs beginning with Bear Pen Sam who was born on the Isaiah Kidd farm in Sinks Grove, West Virginia and given to my father as a 5-month old pup in 1960.

I would like to publicly thank Berry, Tracey and Ben for showing confidence in a Bear Pen/Mike Cauley-bred dog named Barth's Treeing Trigger. Berry made the long drive from Tennessee to Wisconsin to breed to Trigger and the result was a pair of outstanding Plott bear dogs, Houston Valley Doc and Houston Valley Henry born in October of 2004. Berry bred Doc to one of his fine females to produce Bear Pen Henry VIII (The "VIII" stands for eight generations of Bear Pen dogs.)
