Brent Zink second in PKC Super Stakes

PlottDogs.Com congratulates Brent Zink of Hillsboro, OH for his second place finish in the 2009 PKC Senior Super Stakes Championship with his two-year old Plott male, GRCH NiteCH Zink’s Bayou Amy’s Revenge, kennel name Z-bar.
Z-bar exhibited a sterling performance, scoring plus points each time he was set down at the event staged in Salem, Illinois on October 22nd through 26th. On the first night of competition Z-bar narrowly lost his cast by a 50 point margin. He hunted two rounds on the second night of competition and scored 225 plus and winning his cast in the early round to advance to the late round where he scored 150 plus. This advanced the Ohio Plott to the semi-final round early on Sunday evening. Z-bar scored 100 plus for the cast win in a harrowing contest that saw one dog scratched for fighting and two dogs, including Z-bar scratched for returning to the same tree twice. The rules state when all dogs in the cast are scratched the dog leading at the time is the winner and that advanced Z-bar to the late round where he competed in a head-to-head cast winning it handily with a score of 525 plus to his competition's 200 plus.
The final was run on Monday night and consisted of a three-dog cast. Z-bar performed very well, scoring first tree on two coons and giving the eventual winner, a Treeing Walker female named Out of Pocket, handled by Tom Jennings of Greenville, Ohio a run for her money. An early minus strike score made the difference in the cast which Z-bar narrowly lost by 25 points to finish second in the Championship.
